Adrian College Department of Art & Design Faculty
The faculty of Adrian College's Department of Art and Design are practicing artists, designers, and researchers who bring professional experience into the classroom and gallery. Most importantly, they are professionals who are passionately interested in teaching and in the challenges of working with young adults who are interested in the arts. The Adrian College Art & Design staff is comitted to doing their absolute best to teach future artists and designers the skills they need to flourish in both their careers and in their lives. The faculty is constantly thinking up new ways in which they can mentor and guide students into exploratory and professional career experiences, while also encouraging all students - majors and non-majors alike - to enjoy art and understand its abilitiy to enrich their lives, whatever their career path may be.
The mission of Adrian College is to give our students a well-rounded education that will prepare them for nearly any career. Liberal arts education is based solely on this principle, which has been the guiding plan at the school for its entire history. We also understand the necessity for preparing students for their chosen careers, and have thus sought to provide a curriclum that strikes the balance between the liberal arts and particular career paths. In the Art and Design Department, we offer such paths, and provide the flexibility for our students to explore these various areas.
